VET Honours is launched to recognise and celebrate the veterinary community for its dedication and commitment over the past year

In response to the challenges faced, VET Festival is delighted to be partnering with MWI Animal Health and Vet Times to recognise this community through these brand-new ‘Vet Honours’ awards. Veterinary professionals are invited to nominate their peers to receive an Honour.

These honours are about celebrating the veterinary community’s commitment over the past year and highlight how individuals and practices have been a positive influence on the veterinary community during this unprecedented year.

The ‘VET Honours’ are made up of six categories that are open to all professional levels from support staff to a whole practice.

Categories for the Vet Honours are:

•    Practice of the year
•    Vet
•    Vet Nurse
•    Practice Manager
•    Excellence in Therapy
•    Support Staff

Nominations are open from 18 December 2020 to 26 April 2021. A shortlist of finalists will be announced in Vet Times. Voting then opens in June and readers of Vet Times and those in the veterinary industry can choose the winners by a public vote.

The winners will receive a bespoke made Vet Honours trophy along with a lifetime ticket to CPD conference VET Festival, and a £500 cash prize courtesy of MWI Animal Health.

Alan White, Commerical and Customer Relations Director at MWI Animal Health, comments "In a year like no other, we have been humbled by the compassion and dedication of the veterinary community. We are excited to be working in partnership with Vet Festival and the Vet Times to support the Vet Honours and give the profession a voice to recognise those that have given so much to animal and client care, as well as their colleagues, during the most challenging of times."
