Jon is the son of a general practice vet from Manchester and went on to qualify from Cambridge in 2004. He spent several years in small animal general practice in Lincoln and then completed an internship at the Royal Veterinary College in London and a residency at the University of Cambridge, subsequently lecturing there for a couple of years.
