Teaching Associate in Veterinary Physiotherapy, University of Nottingham, UK
Melanie Haines graduated from the University of Brighton in 2002 as a human physiotherapist. After working for three years in practice she started her Masters in Veterinary physiotherapy at the Royal Veterinary College. She completed her degree in 2007 and joined ACPAT, from there she built her own mixed animal practice. She gradually built up a working relationship with local vets and then started to work at a small animal referral centre where she developed her love of neurological physiotherapy for the small animal. She worked alongside orthopaedic surgeons and neurologists to implement a holistic approach of physiotherapy integrated within the animals inpatient and outpatient care. Since 2018, she has been working at the University of Nottingham Vet School as a teaching associate in Veterinary physiotherapy developing and teaching on their Post grad Dip/Master in Veterinary Physiotherapy. Melanie is passionate about clinically reasoned evidence-based practice with integrated multidisciplinary care for animals.
