Stuart works as a yoga and mindfulness teacher, as well as a qualified physiotherapist. He also combines these practices to work in a school for children with profound physical disability as a Health & Wellbeing coordinator. He originally trained as a PE teacher before switching careers in the late 1980’s, training as a physiotherapist. Initially, he worked in the International Sports sector before developing an interest in a more holistic approach to manual therapy.
Stuart developed his own unique way of assessing and treating the fascial system of not only the muscles, but also the internal connective tissue matrix surrounding and supporting the viscera. With this experience he developed his own private practice in Somerset, together with lecturing worldwide on his area of expertise.
Spending time with his young family became his next priority, along with his passion for yoga and mindfulness. He has integrated a practice of mindful movement with yin yoga, working with the concept that; less is the new more. Breath work has been a fundamental part of this process. His current goal is to inspire and encourage those that he works with to pause, take time to reflect and breathe.
